Preparing your pet for the Spay/Neuter

  • Dogs and cats over six months of age should not be fed after 8 pm the night before surgery. Puppies and kittens under six months of age should have a small meal on the morning of surgery.

  • All pets should always have access to water.

  • All cats must be placed in a carrier or TNR/transfer cage. Please do not place more than one cat in a carrier. We will not accept multiple kittens in the carrier or cats on leashes.

  • Dogs must be on a secure leash. No retractable leashes.

  • Please do not send any personal items with your pet, the likelihood of them being misplaced or lost is high.

Spay/Neuter Drop Off Information

  • Check-in for cats is 7:00 am.

  • Check-in for dogs is 7:30 am.

  • An additional fee of $50 will be added to the invoice if pets arrive more than 15 minutes late.

  • Please allow about an hour for spay/neuter check-in

  • If you are able, please sign the consent form electronically prior to your appointment. If you cannot sign the consent form ahead of time, this will be completed at drop-off.

  • Payment is required at pick-up. We will send an email with a payment link during the afternoon. Providing payment through the link can speed up your checkout process.

Spay/neuter pick-up information

  • Pick-up for cats is 12 pm.

  • Pick-up for dogs is 1 pm.

  • All patients must be picked up no later than 2 pm. Grant Veterinary Care closes at 2 pm, and all pets in our care will be boarded with no supervision at a fee of $100.

  • Payment is required at pick-up. We accept cash, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We do not accept checks or money orders. A 3.25% surcharge will be applied to all credit cards. We do not accept checks or money orders.

  • Prior to discharging your pet, our staff will review the post-operative care with you and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
